In the first half of this workshop we’re going to get creative with our extruder and build a geometric pattern cane. There will be lots of different patterns to choose from on the day and you decide the colours!
Siobhan will show you some tips and tricks when building this style of cane work and how to achieve a continuous pattern cane in order to create a patterned slab/veneer.

You will then have the opportunity to use your geometric cane to create a trinket dish. You are free to bring your own mould for baking your dish or use the different ones that we will have available. Siobhan will show you a couple of different methods for creating and baking trinket dishes and how to decide which method is best for your design. We’ll look at different ways to finish the rim of your dish and add on some fun bases or feet using the left over veneer.

If you don’t want to create a trinket dish, you can use the afternoon to create more geometric canes in different designs.
