Thanks Paula for a great mixed media workshop today and also to our students for attending!

So many wonderful jewellery pieces and components were created using the Shrinkets technique.

Again, I didn’t get many photos which I apologise for.....everyone was super busy and we had quite a few studio visits from shoppers today too.

It’s always great to see so many happy faces here at the studio!

JUST IN! Our Sculpey and Jacquard orders came in

JUST IN!

Our Sculpey and Jacquard orders came in today and I got quite the shock when I realised the new limited edition Premo Mauve and Premo Turquoise Granite were in there too!

These are limited edition so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get more at this stage but I’ll definitely do my best.

All the restocked clay plus these new colours (and a few other new items) are now online.
The studio will also be open from 10.00am until 3.00pm tomorrow - Saturday 17th April - if you’d like to shop in person.

We’ve been stocking Moiko silkscreens here at the studio for many years and I’m so glad that I’ve finally been able to restock Gosia’s beautiful screens.

I was first introduced to Moiko silkscreens by my good friend Deb Crothers many years ago when we used them in her workshops. These screens are some of the best on the market and since the early days, Gosia has added numerous designs to her catalogue. They really are a joy to use and, with the right care, will stand the test of time.

These are available in studio and will be online very soon so stay tuned. I’ve also got a silkscreening workshop coming up next month (Finally!!....after having to reschedule from last year due to covid lockdowns!)- details are online or send me a message.

Midweek Workshop Magic!

If you saw our post from a few days ago, you would have seen that we picked up a rather large delivery of new shape cutters....and I’ve just finished putting the first lot online!

We are so pleased to be the exclusive Australian stockist of the new ‘Gilly Cutters’ made from resin from @clayladydownunder

Gill has been creating PLA 3D printed cutters for years and has now moved onto making her designs from resin.
This process makes them stronger, the walls are much smoother and the edges sharper and tapered. And because of this sharpness, there is less residue to clean off the cutters after use. And no joins either!

They are now available online and are also available in studio tomorrow (Wednesday) and Saturday (we will be open both days from 10.00am until 3.00pm - Wednesday 14th and Saturday 17th April).

This coming weekend we’re running two workshops

This coming weekend we’re running two workshops that are one-off, not to be repeated this semester.
‘Ebru Art’ with Eda and ‘Shrinky Shapes’ with Paula.

Ebru, also known as water/paper marbling, is UNESCO heritage-listed traditional turkish art of creating colorful patterns by dropping and splashing paints onto a tray of oily water with special brushes. These patterns are then transferred to a retentive piece of paper or fabric. A unique, mesmerising and exciting technique.

In ‘Shrinky Shapes’, learn how to make ‘shrinket’ flowers and shapes and how to decorate with pencils, rubber stamps and textas. Paula will show students how to use moulds, colourants and heat to create these beautifully unique components. She will also teach students how to create jewellery pieces - either beaded or not. The choice is yours!
