Here at The Whimsical Bead, we rarely have sales as I try and keep our prices as low as possible all year round. However, I accumulated too much stock during the covid lockdowns so I’ve had to decide which lines I am going to keep and which are going to be retired before I literally have nowhere to sit!

There is up to 75% off some products but they are limited and once they’re gone, that’s it!

I have a few extra things available in studio but if they don’t sell this weekend I’ll add some of them to the website (there’s a few that just won’t ship well).

I started the week off wonderfully, teaching these

I started the week off wonderfully, teaching these enthusiastic youngsters how to create with polymer clay.

They were all a mix of ages from 3 years old up to about 10 years and they all created some fabulous pieces (and are cupcakes!) whilst their Mums enjoyed a cuppa and a chat in our outdoor space.

I love running creative kids classes as they don’t limit themselves to the same ‘rules’ that adults do. They let their imaginations do the talking and I am often amazed by the outcomes.

This was a private/on demand session for a group of friends/mothers group to kick start their school holidays.
I am always happy to put together a creative class, in a variety of mediums, so please reach out if you have a group who might be interested or a special event coming up (yes, we do birthday parties!).
I have 16 years experience in early childhood education, a working with children check, asthma and anaphylaxis training and a passion for passing my creativity onto the next generation!

The last week or so has taken a toll on my body. I

The last week or so has taken a toll on my body. Invisible illnesses can be hell and I know for me the flares can hit without warning.
We don’t have any workshops this weekend - very unusual but it will hopefully give me a chance to get on top of this flare.

Kenzi was not impressed that the studio wasn’t going to be filled with students today (and I am not up to walking her) so I organised a play date this morning with her bestie Riley (and Riley’s) sister Molly.
They had a great time and all is now forgiven (for now!).

We will be retiring many of our Workshop in a Box Tutorial Kits at the end of this year. And if they sell out earlier they won’t be restocked.

These kits are perfect for if you can’t attend an in person workshop. They all include a step by step, comprehensive, full colour photo tutorial booklet printed by our local professional printer here in town.

The newly updated website is finally live! You wo

The newly updated website is finally live!

You won’t notice a huge difference to the way it operates. We still have an easy to use system, flat rate shipping, quick dispatch times and handy features such as our workshop calendar.

Some of these new features that have now been implemented are,
• a wish list! (yep,you asked for it!)
• new payment options
• a cleaner layout,
• quicker loading times,
• a new updated Blog
……plus more!

As usually happens with a launch, there have been a few glitches. We are aware that the workshops and workshop in a box listings are missing some info but that will be fixed in the next day or so. We also have to implement PayPal 4 in 1 but normal PayPal payment options are available as well as the newly installed Stripe and all our usual payment options.

I will be working hard in the next week to get all the new products online (there’s quite a few!) and then working on some new free how-to’s for the Blog. We’ve also got some new emails in the works plus an incentive for workshop attendees (I’ll reveal more soon!).

I’d love to know your thoughts on the updated site. Is there anything you think we are missing and would like me to add? Have you found something that’s not quite functioning as it should??
