‘Elven Sparkle’ Workshop

Come and learn how to create a beautiful ‘elven’ inspired wire pendant (or earrings if you’d prefer), whilst expanding your wire working skills.
You’ll work with square and round wire and learn a variety of techniques that can be applied to other creations in the future.
Depending on your experience level, you may have time to play with starting to making earrings to match.
You will walk away with at least one piece ready to wear!

The studio will be open from 9.45am.
Please be ready to start your workshop at 10am so that you don’t miss any important information.
Please Note: if you are late to class, you may be asked to wait until a suitable pause in tuition when your tutor will come and get you and catch you up so you do not interrupt the flow of the workshop.

Tutor:
Alana Jones of ‘Sparkling Dragon Designs’.
Alana has been creating and making since around 8 years of age and has always been delighted by pretty sparkly things, so of course designing jewellery was the perfect avenue for her!
Being surrounded by a rainbow of beads and an array of components makes her very happy. As a jewellery maker, wire is one of her favourite mediums, as it can be bent and shaped into almost anything!
Skill Level:
This class is open to all patient beginners and beyond.
Students need to be 18+ to attend.
Cost:
$140 plus materials if needed and ‘jewels’ from Alana (cost will dependent on what you choose but will be approx. $5.
You are welcome to bring your own (see below) or purchase on the day.
You can purchase full reels of wire (more economical if you want to continue to create at home) or a materials/kit fee is available at a cost of $15.

All bookings require a non-refundable deposit to be secure, with the balance to be paid on the day of the workshop.
You also have the option of paying in full upfront.

Places are strictly limited as we run with small class sizes ensuring that all participants receive personalised attention from their tutor. At our workshops, you are not just a number!

- 18g Square Wire (or purchase on the day);
- 18g Round Wire (or purchase on the day);
- 20g Round Wire (or purchase on the day);
- 26g Round Wire (or purchase on the day);
- Small metal beads (or purchase on the day);
- Chain/Necklace (or purchase on the day);
- Ear hooks (optional – or purchase on the day);
- Hammer & Steel Block (or borrow ours – we will have some to share);
- Ring Mandrel (or borrow ours – we will have some to share);
- Stepped Pliers (or borrow ours – we will have some to share);
- Nylon Jaw Pliers (or borrow ours – we will have some to share);
- Side Cutters (or borrow ours);
- Round nose pliers (or borrow ours);
- Chain nose pliers (or borrow ours);
- Your lunch (or you can go into town on your lunch break);
- Notebook/Pen/Pencil if you would like to take notes.

Extra Information Regarding COVID/Illness:
We ask that you remember that we are a home based business run by someone with chronic illnesses. Many of our visitors are also immune compromised. Please do not visit the studio if you are unwell in any way. Thank you for your understanding.
Why Do a Workshop with Us?
Here’s what makes us different from other creative spaces.
- All our Tutors are experienced in teaching and have many years of experience working with their respective mediums/in their field of expertise – for most of our tutors this is over 15 years experience.
- Our workshop sizes are small with usually no more than 12 students.
- We provide a friendly, inviting space and cater for many challenges you may face (health issues, food intolerances, anxiety, etc.). Many of our students (and some of our tutors) suffer from chronic illness and have special needs. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to Dani who will do her best to help you out;
- We use only high quality materials/products in our workshops and myself and our Tutors are familiar with how these work and can give you accurate information/answers to your questions;
- Students are able to browse our 1500+ products and purchase if they wish to either before, during or after their workshop;
- We offer payment plan options on most workshops as we understand that finances can be tight (please email if you’d like to take advantage of this);
- We are fully insured and there is always someone on site who has a Level 2 first aid qualification and asthma management training. All tutors who are working with children have current, valid Working with Children Checks.
- We offer ‘after workshop’ support for all our students. Students can ask questions of our tutors and refresh any information they need to after the workshop via email, phone or in our Facebook group especially for students.
