** The ‘gauge’ of a wire refers to the diameter/thickness of the wire. It is sometimes abbreviated to ‘g’ or ‘ga’.
The larger the gauge, the smaller the wire’s diameter. So, for example, a 18g wire is thicker than a 28g wire.
