With Easter and School Holidays this month, April was a little quieter than usual for workshops however we still had quite a bit on and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.
We started off the month with our regular bi-monthly chainmaille workshop, this time focusing on Rondo, Whirlybird and Starfish weaves.
Everyone managed to get quite a bit completed during this workshop which was great!
The next day was our first Jewellery Assembly 101 workshop where students came and learned how to put their handmade or bought beads into beautiful pieces of jewellery. We also covered different types of metals/coatings, findings and stringing materials. It was a very informative workshop.
Later in the month was a Mini workshop with Karen, focusing on Spiral Rope weave with seed beads. I apologise as I didn’t get any photos from this workshop but I can assure you they were all busy little bees.
We run Mini workshops on a semi regular basis in many different mediums and as they run during the week and during school hours they are perfect for Mums who might have little ones at school.
The next day was our first Metal Clay workshop for the year (but certainly not our last!).
This was a full class and everyone created some amazing works. It was a beautiful day so many of the students took advantage of the sunshine and fresh air and did some of the finishing of their pieces outside!
Stay tuned for our PMC Origami workshop as well as several workshops with base metal clays – all with our wonderful tutor Lara.
Rivetted Rings with Robyn was another fun class held this month focusing on creating rings from sheet metal.
We also held a wonderful Tutored Access (Polymer Clay) at the end of the month where several students attended to finish off some projects and get some tips and hints for those that they were starting on.
All in all another great month!
