‘Multicoloured Mokume Gane’ | Polymer Clay Exploration Workshop
12 October 2024 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
In this brand new workshop, Dani will show you how to create a multicoloured mokume gane veneer using several different techniques, including creating and using coloured gradients.
She will also show you how to incorporate black and white into these stacks/veneers to make the colours ‘pop’.
Mokume Gane is an ancient Japanese metalworking technique, meaning ‘wood eye’ or ‘wood grain’, by which layers of contrasting colored metals are fused together with heat and pressure and worked to produce a patterned mixed-metal sheet.
Polymer clay artists have taken this technique and applied it to their medium. There are many different ways to achieve a mokume gane look in polymer clay – this MG technique is different from the one in the Mokume Hollow Pods workshop.
