Kingfisher Cane Polymer Clay Workshop (Sunday August Session)

$60.00 $120.00

With its combination of royal-blue plumage on its upper parts contrasting with orange on its underparts, the Azure Kingfisher is one of the smallest and most dazzling kingfishers in Australia. Kingfishers are symbolic of freedom, courage, adventure, and balance.

In this brand new (and her debut) workshop here at The Whimsical Bead, Siobhan will show you step by step how she creates her faux lead light kingfisher cane and transforms this into stunning translucent earrings complete with wire work foliage.

You will come away with a completed pair of earrings and your own small kingfisher cane to take home.

Tutor:
Siobhan Van Bergeijk from Berjique Jewellery is a jewellery artist and designer who takes her inspiration from just about anywhere – nature, patterns, styles, fashion, eras, food and art. Siobhan has used many different mediums and is currently working with polymer clay and its limitless potential of shape, colour and pattern. She can translate and manipulate just about anything she sees into a wearable piece of polymer clay art!
After many years working in a corporate environment, it was time to walk away from the procedural confines, set herself free of the shackles and let the right brain take over and realise its potential. Always a lover of pretty trinkets, adornments and sparkly things, with a soft spot for antique and boho styles, it was only natural that jewellery making became her thing!
Whilst Siobhan has been creating for many years, this is her first foray into formally teaching polymer clay and we are so pleased to welcome her to The Whimsical Bead in 2022.
