One of the most-asked questions I get when I’m teaching or demonstrating at shows/classes is ‘What’s the best thing to use when trying to clean up polymer clay?’

Many people make the mistake of trying to clean their pasta machine and tools with soap and water or wipes. This really just doesn’t work and often results in your tools getting all rusty.

The best thing to use when you want to clean your tools, your work surface (and your hands!) is isopropyl alcohol/rubbing alcohol as it will dissolve the polymer clay. Pour some onto a soft cloth and wipe over your tools and work surface – it won’t be long before they’re super clean!

Don’t forget, the better you look after your tools, the longer they will last!
