March was a fabulously busy month here at the studio with our own local tutors as well as Debbie Crothers from Western Australia coming back to visit.
We started the month off with a brand-new-to-the-studio workshop – Cold Process Natural Soap Making with Kylie Callander who made her teaching debut here at the studio with this workshop.
Students had a wonderful time and I can tell you that the studio smelled amazing! So scents not to mention colours in the soap that students created.
Everyone also created a batch of bath truffles which were a quick and easy bonus project for the day.
This workshop booked very quickly – did you miss out on a place? I’m pleased to tell you that we’ll be running this workshops again next semester – don’t miss out!
Did you know that we run private events here at The Whimsical Bead studio? This month the studio was booked for a private birthday creative session for the lovely Anthea. Each student left with a beautiful necklace or two plus a few pairs of earrings. They all did an amazing job – especially since some of them were complete beginners!
Do you have a birthday/special event coming up? Maybe a Whimsical party is just the thing!? We can cater your event specifically to your wants/needs. Catering is also available. Contact us for more details.
Another workshop held earlier in the month was a Viking Weave wire workshop taught by Kay Lancashire. This was a workshop where students were encouraged to take their newly learnt technique of viking weave and design their own bracelet. Each one was unique in it’s own right and each student finished their bracelet within the day – some even started a second one!
This month we held a mid-week ‘mini workshop’ in polymer clay. This was a variation on my full day ‘Mesh Mash’ Polymer Clay Workshop.
I had a few students in this class who were complete polymer clay beginners and they did a wonderful job as I’m sure you’ll agree by these photos.
I won’t be running this workshop again for a little while however, I am happy to teach you during one of our Tutored Access Sessions so please just ask!
Towards the end of the month we welcomed back one of my dear friends, polymer artist Debbie Crothers. We always have so much fun here at the studio with Deb. her energy is never ending and her positivity and creativity infectious. Here’s a few highlights from the 4 days of workshops. You can view more photos from these wonderful days on our Facebook page. Debbie will be back next year so stay tuned. Thank you Deb for an amazing week – love you lots!
Have you checked out what’s happening here at the studio for the next few months? Go on…..you know you want to come and join the fun!
