Once again, we had a busy month here at the studio in August. Lots of wonderful things were created and lots of fun had!
One of the first workshops we held this month was Polymer Clay Brilliant Bezels. This is always a popular workshop and we’ll likely run it again next semester so if you’re interested, let me know by commenting here. If we get enough interest we will definitely offer this again.
Here’s a few photos from the day including student work…..
We also hosted our regular Maille Mania Chainmaille workshop and this month the focus was on Glass Rings and Sweet Pea weave. Sweet Pea was a little challenging but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
This month I debuted a brand new workshop – Polymer Clay ‘Everyday’ Mokume Gane. The idea behind this workshop was that you don’t need fancy tools to create some beautiful polymer clay mokume gane stack.
We had a a great time exploring the household/garage items that can be made to create some beautiful patterns. We also covered how to make texture sheets out of polymer clay and use them to create mokume gane patterns.
In August we welcomed back bead-embroiderer extraordinaire, Catriona Starpins to teach a second workshop of her Dimensional Bead Embroidery.
Everyone had an amazing day and we look forward to October when Cat is back with a brand new workshop – Structural Beaded Ropes.
Our Funky Flowers workshop with Karen, I also participated in and it was so much fun! If you missed out on this workshop, you can book into another Simply Seed Beads workshop and do this project – just let us know upon booking.
The lovely Lara was back again to give her previously beginner students a chance to improve on their base metal clay skills and take their projects to the next level.
The good news is that Lara’s classes have been so popular this semester that she’ll be back next year on a more regular basis. Yay!!
